Who we are
Monica Tulchinsky, Esq. is a human rights advocate and U.S. immigration attorney with over 15 years of experience. She has worked at the United Nations; for the government of Liberia; at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon; and for international organizations in Asia, Africa, and the U.S.
For the last 8 years, Ms. Tulchinsky has specialized in U.S. immigration law. As a nonprofit immigration attorney from 2018 to 2024, Ms. Tulchinsky provided legal counsel to over 3,000 low-income immigrants across New York City. From 2024-2025, she served as the Senior Director of Programs at the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) during one of the largest immigration crackdowns in modern U.S. history. In this role, she oversaw community programming, resources, and training for immigrants and immigrant defenders while policy changes unfolded in real time.
Ms. Tulchinsky has testified at the New York City Council and has been quoted in the New York Times on U.S. immigration issues. As the child of an immigrant, Ms. Tulchinsky feels a deep personal connection to her work. She has seen her own family’s story mirrored in the stories of hundreds of clients, and she has fought each client’s case with the same zealous advocacy she would have wanted for her own family.
